Texas Tech ranks in the national top 10 for best law school

Texas Tech University Law School continues to rank among the top law schools in the nation.

In National Jurist’s preLaw magazine’s 2022 Best Value of Law School rankings, the law school ranked #9 in the nation and #1 in the state of Texas. This is the fourth consecutive year the law school has achieved a ranking among the nation’s top 20 law schools and the second consecutive year Texas Tech has been ranked as the top law school in Texas, according to a press release.

National Jurist’s best value rankings focus on schools that provide law students with high academic achievement while keeping costs and student debt low. Admission to the bar, employment rate, tuition, cost of living, and average debt load upon graduation are all factors in the rankings and are categories in which Texas Law School Tech excels.

The law school’s class of 2021 ranked 12th nationally in placement for full-time, long-term, and bar-requiring positions and the law school’s most recent pass rate of the American Bar Association Ultimate Bar is 96.61%. Texas Tech School of Law is also one of the cheapest law schools in the state.

“We are proud to be recognized as one of the best value schools,” said Jack Wade Nowlin, W. Frank Newton Professor of Law and Dean of the Faculty of Law. “This ranking confirms our commitment to providing high quality, yet affordable education. This, coupled with excellent professional support and bar prep resources, gives our students the tools they need to succeed as lawyers.
