Fieldfisher will welcome trainee lawyers to its Belfast office for the first time.

Two current employees, Hollie Ferris and Leo McSweeney, will begin the Legal Practice Course in September and will eventually qualify as barristers in England and Wales after completing their education and two years of professional experience.

Applications were open to employees who had been with the company for more than a year. Interns will be based in Belfast with the option to complete a seat in one of Fieldfisher’s other offices. The starting salaries of the two Belfast interns have yet to be finalized

Other companies to launch training contracts in Belfast in recent years include Allen & Overy, Baker McKenzie and TLT.
