Doctor Lawyer episode 2 features Jin-ki telling Yi-han and everyone else in the operating room that he illegally removed the heart of another person who died in the same car accident. I love how these people just extract people’s hearts like it’s the most normal thing to do without any supervision. Either way, Jin-ki senses Yi-han telling a bloody story and convinces him to have the operation.

After this also succeeds, he goes to a hotel room and passes out. In the morning, bad news reaches him as Seok-ju stops responding and despite Yi-han’s best efforts, Seok-ju dies right in front of Seok-yeong. The latter is heartbroken and inconsolable and implores Yi-han to bring her brother back and he can only console her.

Yi-han tries to figure out how it all happened while other doctors ask Seok-yeong to donate his organs. After an organ donation as well as an autopsy, the doctor tells Yi-han and Seok-yeong that he died from the operation and something went wrong. Yi-han refuses to believe her but Seok-yeong is heartbroken but she doesn’t want to believe that Yi-han could do such a thing. Later, he is also denied access to Seok-ju’s medical records as he is to be investigated.

Meanwhile, Yi-han slowly realizes something is wrong after the hospital circulates an announcement that Yi-han will be released from the cardiothoracic ward and will be investigated. Anyway, he goes on a rampage to find the patient he operated on the other night and although he finds the patient, no one lets him near them and drives him away from the surgery room. intensive care. It’s clear that the hospital is trying their best to attribute everything to Yi-han and they’re succeeding too.

Yi-han understands why Jn-ki acted while being interrogated. Obviously, the investigators are trying to make him accept the fault, which he vehemently denies. Regardless, he is taken away regardless and put in jail as Seok-ju’s body is cremated. When his case is judged, Park Kitae, his closest confidant, is lying on the stand, with all those who were present in the operating room. The trial goes as well as imagined and the prosecutor finds the money at home, things seem worse for him.

At the prison, Yi-han is beaten by the other prisoners and as he sleeps in the infirmary, Jin-ki visits him and tells him to accept medical malpractice. That way, if he shows remorse, he won’t be jailed but his license will be revoked. Yi-han asks him if the heart the VIP received was Soek-ju’s and that he will tell the truth to everyone in court. However, Jin-ki tells him to do it if he wants to die in prison and let his mother die as well.

Either way, he threatens Yi-han saying that if he doesn’t accept the charges, he and his mother will die for good. At Yi-han’s second trial, he accepts the charges against him with no options. The judge, unfortunately for him, gives him a two-year prison sentence and a two-year reprieve, and Yi-han almost seems to have given up trying to fix things.

As Seok-yeong catches up to him and asks him why he accepted the charges, Yi-han tells him that he killed him and ends their relationship so they won’t hurt each other again. An angry Seok-yeong promises to hurt doctors who murder others – if she doesn’t, then who will? Meanwhile, Jin-ki congratulates the VIP patient on his new, young heart and asks him to keep his promise.

5 years later, in the present, Yi-han is a renowned lawyer who deals with medical litigation. Seok-yeong is all about bringing “murderers” to justice and apparently hates doctors. Either way, Park Kitae is the one at the helm this time, from the start of the first episode, and Seok-yeong isn’t taking his shit at all. As Kitae falls unconscious, Yi-han arrives on the scene as we see the first scene repeating itself again.

Another thrilling episode made Doctor Lawyer episode 2 an entertaining watch. While you can understand that Jin-ki obviously took out Seok-ju’s heart as his game time, it’s still devastating to watch Yi-han’s face when he finally realizes. For a doctor of this stature, Yi-han is far too naive, to be honest! I mean, going down into the depths of the hospital and doing some obscure, illegal operation that the director doesn’t even want to get into is pretty stupid for him. Just like his complete trust in Jin-ki.

Either way, it looks like he’s learned his lesson and will be ruthless and unsympathetic from now on. Her character arc remains to be seen in later episodes. As for Seok-yeong, I feel like she will be reduced to this woman who is out for blood with little to no character growth. I expect to be wrong, of course, but it’s a trope I’ve seen time and time again in Korean dramas. I really want to see the female lead get some type of character arc instead of being the bereaved parent for revenge!
